Uzbekistan is a country of tolerant

Uzbekistan has been valued since ancient times as a tolerant country where people of different nations, nationalities and religions live in peace and freedom and freely perform their religious rites. The consistent policy pursued by our country in this direction is rightfully recognized by our people and the world community.
“Today, the policy of Uzbekistan in the religious sphere has received wide approval from the international community. How much, in your opinion, has our country progressed in the field of religious freedom?
To date, there are 2,277 religious organizations of 16 confessions in Uzbekistan, of which 2,094 are Islamic religious organizations, including 2,067 mosques. There are also 66 Christian religious organizations, 8 Jewish and 6 Baha'i communities, one Krishna society and a Buddhist church, as well as the Interfaith Bible Society of Uzbekistan. There are such educational institutions as the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent Islamic Institute, the Mir Arab Higher Madrasah, 9 madrasahs, including 2 specialized women's schools, the Tashkent Orthodox Theological Seminary, the Tashkent Protestant Seminary.
The Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, the International Research Centers of Imam Bukhari and Imam Termezi have been established. Schools of kalam, hadith, fiqh, aqida and mysticism were opened in the provinces.
The International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan has introduced curricula for new religious specialties, such as "Religion", "Fiqh", "Quran", "Hadith". In order to train qualified personnel in the field of religious education, such departments as "Koranology and Hadithology", "Islamic History and Source Studies", "Aqida" were opened at the Academy.
For example, believers in Uzbekistan freely celebrate all religious holidays. Year after year, the Muslim holidays of Ramadan and Eid al-Adha, Christian Easter and Christmas, Jewish Easter, Purim and Hanukkah are widely celebrated. In addition, every year, with the full support of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Muslims are sent to Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj and Umrah, Christians to Russia and Greece, and Jews to Israel. In the past, our citizens have been queuing for years to go to Umrah, looking for opportunities to go other ways.
Our state has always perceived religion as an integral and important part of public culture. Religion is a spring that nourishes the spirituality of people. But he should not be politicized and interfere in politics. The legislation of Uzbekistan separates religion from the state. In our country, the creation of political parties and social movements of a religious or ethnic nature is not allowed.
We have always been a tolerant people. Take a look at history. In ancient times, trade caravans from China, India, Europe and Iran crossed the territory of our country along the Great Silk Road. At that time, our caravanserais became real centers of tolerance. Dozens of nationalities and ethnic groups still live in Uzbekistan. Ties with the Uzbek diaspora in other countries are being strengthened. Various international conferences and symposia are organized with the participation of our compatriots abroad. In recent years, special attention has been paid to cooperation with Islamic countries. It is especially gratifying that the initiatives of the head of our state to restore and promote enlightened Islam, to study and popularize the heritage of our great thinkers, who created invaluable scientific works on this issue, were warmly welcomed by the international community. I believe that Uzbekistan will be an example for the whole world in terms of enlightened Islam.
